Karl Turner

Karl is a highly experienced, energetic leader and valued risk management advisor with over 25 years in senior executive roles across the Australian financial services landscape.

He has had an extremely broad exposure to consumer and business lending including being a Chief Credit and Chief Risk Officer at several Banks and non-Banks.

He has a deep understanding of Credit Risk – driven from leading a Bank’s work out and recovery team for over 10 years and their underwriting team for over 5 years. His experience covers construction and commercial property lending, asset-based finance, working capital solutions as well as consumer lending.

In addition, he has proven government relations and advocacy experience having worked closely with Regulators (ASIC, APRA, ACCC, AFSA, RBA), the Federal Government, various State Governments, Treasury and other stakeholders (AFCA, ASBFEO, CAFBA, ACCI, AOFM) on small and medium business-related finance issues during a four-year term with a financial services industry association.

Karl is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from Manchester University in the UK and a Master of Management from Macquarie University.
