Luke joined the Balmain Brisbane office within its first year of operation and has been pivotal in growing the office over the last fifteen years. As the Queensland property market expanded, Luke resourcefully matched the needs of developers and investors with innovative and reliable funding solutions. Skills that continue to add value to his clients investments today. In 1999 Luke became a partner in the Brisbane Office.
Luke continues to service a wide variety of long term clients and source funding opportunities for new clients.
David was one of the founding directors of Balmain Brisbane in 1997. Since that time, David has been at the wheel driving the business, offering clients a wide range of commercial loan products to grow their property assets. He also specialises in construction finance designing structured solutions based on the very latest information and products available. David prides himself on securing the deal which best suits his clients requirements.
Stephen joined Balmain in November 2004 and in July 2011 was invited to be a Partner within the Brisbane office.
Prior to joining Balmain, Stephen worked in corporate banking for the Commonwealth Bank, and also spent 18 months working in the UK for an Irish Bank (solely spent arranging property finance).
Degree-qualified, Stephen enjoys the tangibility of property finance, and especially structuring finance solutions to assist clients in accomplishing their goals. His clients will attest to the fact that he always strives to provide the best solution possible.
Away from the office Stephen enjoys spending as much time as possible with his young family, and occasionally, a little on the golf course.
Paul Buckle has over twenty years’ experience in banking and property finance and has extensive dealing across institutional, corporate and SME business. His work incorporates structuring, negotiating and managing relationships (internal and external) across multiple jurisdictions. Paul anticipates extensive involvement with his clients to ensure their needs are met and, with confidence and assuredness, he brings his insight and ability to foster close bonds. He holds double bachelors’ degree in accounting and IT, with postgrad MBA (change management).
Paul’s family plays a large part in the drive to help others and to achieve the personal goals he’s set for himself. He is married with two sons.
Lev joined Balmain in 2015 as an Analyst, following a career in corporate tax with a Big 4 Accounting Firm. Lev’s prior professional roles include banking, finance, lending and insurance, as well as working in the Australian Defence Force as a combat engineer. Lev was attracted to Balmain and a career in property finance due to the complexity and variety of the transactions. Lev believes that providing exceptional service and solutions to clients in an efficient and effective manner is of the utmost importance. Lev holds a Bachelor of Economics (International Trade & Finance) from The University of Queensland, as well as a Master of Business (Applied Finance) from the Queensland University of Technology.
Lev is a member of MENSA Australia and is a keen sportsman, having been a member of the Australian Powerlifting Team for 5 years, as well as being awarded Sportsman of the Year at both The University of Queensland and the Queensland University of Technology.
Steph joined Balmain Brisbane in 2016 as an Analyst. Prior to joining Balmain, Steph gained financial, research and strategy analyst experience across various sectors, including mining and resources, transport and logistics, retail, and education. Steph holds a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical) and Graduate Certificate of Commerce from the University of Queensland.
Steph was attracted to Balmain for the opportunity to engage in a wide range of transactions within a dynamic market. She develops strong professional relationships with her clients and works to ensure her actions and results are financially viable and grounded with thorough research.
